A Celebration of Life for Rena Jackson, will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ashton, La.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ashton, La.

Rena will be interred at Macedonia Cemetery in Ashton, La.

Rena Bell Ward Jackson, a dedicated soldier and obedient servant to our Lord God, was born in Weeks Island on March 24, 1936 to the late Ashton Ward, Sr. and Lucille Jordan Ward. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Paulfrey Jackson, Sr. and to this union seven children were born.

Rena was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Wilma Castle, Sr. at Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Ulysses Mitchell. She faithfully served on several ministries until her health declined such as: Deaconess, Cafeteria Cook, Home Mission, and Willing Workers.

"Rene" as she was affectionately known, was a diligent God-fearing woman, she loved her family and friends. She also loved to fish and bring in "The Big Catch".

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Gail Andrus, Cheryl Jackson, Wanda Jackson, Paulfrey (Tracey) Jackson, Jr., and Graline Jackson, all of Franklin, LA; and Tammy Molo of Abbeville, LA; grandchildren she reared, Umeki (Rogernick) Harding, Dovone (April) Jackson, and Tyrene Jackson; she had 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; one niece, Mathilda Ward, one nephew, Michael McDaniel, Jr. and a host of special nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ashton, Sr. and Lucille Ward; one daughter, Debra Ferguson-Smith; one sister, Nena Bell; one brother, Ashton Ward, Jr., one niece, Rachel Ward; two great nephews, John Hebert III and Deandre Ward; and three great nieces, LaShawnda Ward, Amber Ward, and Ashley Ward.
