GRADY MILLER BURTON, 79, of Duncan, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, in Duncan.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Ray of Hope Church, with the Rev. Mike McCord and the Rev. Dow Pannell officiating. Interment will be in Marlow Cemetery under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Grady was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Doyle, to Joe and Ruth Eggleston Burton. He married Mildred Lorene Rayburn on July 23, 1956, in Chickasha. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a bookkeeper for Jack Rayburn, and former office manager of The Duncan Banner, working a total of 44 years, retiring in 1990.
Grady was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, enjoyed collecting clocks, lamps and knives. He also enjoyed watching birds and was an avid woodworker.
He was a loyal member of Ray of Hope Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Harry Nickell of Duncan; a sister, Wanda Davis and husband Carl of Marlow; four grandchildren, Leon Anderson of Marlow, Larry Anderson of Lawton, Lori Anderson of Apache, and Kim Allen and husband Randall of Duncan; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, D.O. Burton and Jack Burton; a son, Terry Anderson in 1999; and a grandson, Donald Keith Nickell in 1990.
Bearers will be his great-grandsons, Tanner Nickell, Cody Brown, Grady McCullar, Dustin McCullar, Terry Don Anderson and Timothy Davidson.
