James David "Willie" Benton passed away January 26, 2023 at Woltz Hospice Home.
Mr. Benton was born March 4, 1943 in Surry County to Buford and Mozelle Adams Benton.
He was a veteran of the US Army National Guard.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Benton was preceded in death by a son, Brian Benton; and a sister, Edith (Kenneth) Swaim.
He is survived by his son, Jim (Michelle) Benton; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Vivian Combs.
A funeral service will be conducted at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville.
Burial will follow at Fall Creek Baptist Church cemetery with military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346.
