Robert Junior "Bob" Crews, son of Robert and Nimmie Whitaker Crews, was born October 30, 1927, in Detroit, Texas. He departed this life Saturday, February 23, 2008, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, three months, and twenty-three days.

On September 1, 1949, in Paris, Texas, he was united in marriage to Daisy Leona Crumpler, and to this union one daughter and three sons were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Willie, Albert, Joe, and Dewey Crews; and four sisters, Ann Plant, Marie McPherson, Fannie Byrd, and Thelma Cross.
Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Daisy, of the home; a daughter, Cindy Johnson, of Kansas City, Missouri, three sons, Rick Crews, and his wife, Carolyn, of Basehor, Kansas, Rob Crews, of Adrian, Missouri, and Steve Crews, of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Toby, Candace and Ashley Johnson, and Patrick, Bobby, and Cody Crews; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

He was raised in Fulbright, Texas, where he graduated from high school. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from February 21, 1946, until April 4, 1947, during World War II. Bob had played minor league baseball as a catcher for the Detroit Tigers and the White Sox. Soon after he and Daisy were married, they made their home in Fort Worth, Texas, and lovingly raised their family. For forty-two years, Bob worked for the Fisca Oil Company in Kansas City, Kansas, retiring as a Vice President of the company. For the last several years, he and Daisy had made their home in Lebanon, Missouri.

Bob was an active member of Harvest Tabernacle – United Pentecostal Church in Lebanon.

In his spare time he enjoyed quail hunting, playing games, and listening to bluegrass music, and was an active member of the Masonic Lodge. He was an extremely organized person with a mind for numbers, and greatly liked his work. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008, in Harvest Tabernacle Church, Lebanon. Burial will be in Veterans Circle at Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
