PETER F. KOEPPEL
(1946 - 2014)
Peter F. Koeppel age 67, of 7414 Peaceful Lane, Manitowoc, died Sunday morning, March 16, 2014 at the Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center following a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family at his side.
Pete was born on September 27, 1946 in Manitowoc, son of the late Roman and Dorothy (Blimel) Koeppel. He was a 1964 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Pete was married to the former Doris Schmidt on May 23, 1970 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Doris preceded him in death on September 9, 1987. On November 16, 2012 Pete was married to Rose Haskins in Manitowoc. Pete worked for George Clark Transfer as a truck driver for 28 years until disability forced him into retirement. He also worked with Terry Berger and sold draft horses. Pete was inducted into the WI Horse Puller's Association's Hall of Fame in 2011.
Survivors include his wife: Rose Koeppel, rural Manitowoc; his two children: Kris (Jay) Hucek, Ashwaubenon; Chad Koeppel, rural Manitowoc; one step-son: Troy (Kelly) Auchue, Fond du Lac; four grandchildren: Connor and Chloe Hucek; Jackson and Violet Auchue; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Paulette (Lloyd) Falvey, Manitowoc; Patti (Erv) Spaude, Green Bay; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Roman and Dorothy Koeppel and his first wife: Doris Koeppel.
Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. for a memorial visitation. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in his name.
