Raymond M. Weichart Sr., 68, of 1433 N. 6th Street, Manitowoc, Manitou Manor, died Tuesday morning, April 18, 1989 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Friday at Pfeffer Funeral home. Rev. Alfred Klumb will officiate with burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Military graveside rites will be accorded at the graveside by American Legion Drews Bleser Post Number 88.

Mr. Weichart was born November 4, 1920 at Grimms, Wisconsin, Manitowoc County, son of the late Michael and Anna Erickson Weichart. He farmed in the Town of Newton for many years and also was employed at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, retiring in 1983. Mr. Weichart was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army in the European Theatre of Operations from December 29, 1942 until his discharge on October 30, 1945. He was a member of American Legion Drews Bleser Post Number 88.

Survivors include a son, Raymond W. Weichart Jr. of Mountain, Wisconsin; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Jean and James Erickson of Anchorage, Kentucky, Joyce and Wayne Cisler of Whitelaw, Karen Stoehr and friend, Donald Hoffmann of Manitowoc, Audrey Wittmus and friend, Dennis Gauthier of Manitowoc; a sister, Verona Shimek of Manitowoc; sister-in-law, Lois Weichart of Two Rivers; special friends, Verlene Kollath of Manitowoc, Jacob Babich of St. Nazianz; 14 grandchildren, Tracy Snell, Joseph, James, Jason Cisler, David and Dean Stoehr, Terri, Kelly, Kim, Jesse Weichart, Teresa and Sara Wittmus and three great grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda and Laren Snell. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mylo, Merlin and Lester and a grandson, Jeremy.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5 pm to 9 pm Thursday.
