Sometimes spelled Kauahine, she was the heir of high chief Kaiuli of the Kaupō ohana alii. Dowager of King Kahekili II secondly was wed to Koii I. Mother of 1/2 siblings King Kalanikupule (slain by King Kamehameha in 1795) and Ali'i of Lahaina, high chief Aarona Unauna, senior genealogist and teacher of the royal lineages during the kapu system and after. Matriarch progenitor of the royal House of Unauna.
