Surviving are his wife of 65 years; a daughter, Catherine A. Harker and husband, Joseph of Duncansville; four sons: James A. of Altoona, William R. and wife, Bobbie of Alum Bank, John N., and Jeffrey A., both of Duncansville; six grandchildren: Bryan, Sarah, Heather, Matthew, Lincoln, and Jeremiah; seven great grandchildren: Deryk, Alex, Madelyn, Brodie, Kaelyn, Claudia, and Della; a sister, Phyllis Brubaker; many nieces and nephews; and a special family friend, Heidi Rexford.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Benson and a brother, Kenneth.
James was an IBEW Journeyman for 50 years with the Local Union 5. Prior to that, he worked for Adams Electric and PRR. He was a lifetime member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, where he formerly served on the Board of Trustees. James was also a member of Catholic War Veterans and Cesare Battisti Club.
His greatest enjoyments were his times spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time on his property feeding the birds and fish in the pond.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5pm Wednesday February 1, 2023, at Carson Valley Church of the Brethren where a funeral service will immediately follow at 5pm with Pastor Bradley Runkle officiating.
