Ruby Tolise Armes, age 83, of Marshall, Arkansas parted from this earthly life on Sunday, January 29th, 2023 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. She was born in Cross County, Arkansas on July 17th, 1939 to William Chanclor Cothran and Amanda Bradsher Cothran. She was a member of the 1957 graduating class of Vanndale High School, Vanndale, Arkansas. She married Benny Jack Armes of Luxora, Arkansas on September 5th, 1959 at First Assembly of God in Memphis, Tennessee.

Tolise was a lifelong Christian who raised her three sons to believe in the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a member of Whitehaven Assembly of God in Memphis for more than twenty years. She worked in children's ministries and was active in women's ministries, while also supporting her husband's and sons' involvement in church sports. Her love for the Lord and the fellow members of her church was well-known, as were her signature lemon meringue pies. In addition to being a great cook, Tolise was a dedicated homemaker and mother, sharing her love of children with other families through her home daycare business. Eventually she would secure employment at Artisan Frame and Molding, where she was loved and respected by her employers and coworkers. In 1984, Tolise and Benny relocated to Marshall, Arkansas. She was a beloved member of Marshall Assembly of God, serving as church secretary for nearly 30 years. She regularly visited nursing homes and hospitals to bring compassion and the message of the Gospel to others in their time of need. She and Benny enjoyed regularly providing others much-needed transportation to doctor's appointments. She was a dedicated and loving daughter, who visited almost daily during the last 10 years of her mother's life. The greatest joy of her life was being a grandmother and her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew her as Mammaw, Granny and Buddy. She was unsurpassed as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and Christian. She will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Benny Armes of Marshall; sons, Dwayne Armes (Jamie) of Memphis, Tennessee, Greg Armes of Centerville, Georgia and Skip Armes (Angela) of Leslie; sisters, Annette Dunn of Oklahoma and Wanda Buckman (Henry) of Stanfield, North Carolina; grandchildren, Toni, Carrie, Michael, Isaac, Nikki, Nathan, Dayton, Casey, Faith, Gary, Noah, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Solomon, Bella, Ruby, Jackson, Alaina, Addison, Lauren, Wylee, Crew, Bailynn and Cooper and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
