Miss Heritage had been ill for the past ten days with malarial fever but had recovered so as to be around. Thursday she was taken ill with an attack of appendicitis and her sufferings were intense until death relieved her yesterday morning. Miss Heritage was born at Janesville, Minn., and came to this city about six years ago, and is a graduate of the High school. She was a teacher in the McClernand school for three years. Since her arrival in this city she has made many friends who will be grieved to learn of her death. The deceased is survived by her mother and one brother, Milton Heritage.
The funeral will take place from the house Monday. The remains will be interred in Oak Ridge cemetery. - IL State Register, Springfield, IL, 8-28-1898
