Obituary
Alana Gay Monson Hill, 76, of Orem, Utah, passed away Saturday evening in her home, January 28th 2023. She was born June 29th 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah; parents Marjorie LaVon Hales and Fred Leon Monson. Alana married Dwight Clarence Hill in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 20th 1969.

Alana earned her associates degree from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho where she met her husband of 53 years, Dwight. She enjoyed arts and crafts of all kinds including sewing, painting, drawing, and sketching. She also enjoyed baking and cooking and was able to integrate her artistic abilities with a Hill family tradition of making stained glass cookies during her annual Christmas Eve party. Alana enjoyed people and would find any excuse to host people in her home for games, birthday parties, slumber parties, fancy school dance meals for her children and their friends, holiday parties, bridal and baby showers. She exemplified the pure love of Christ and would serve anybody and everybody she could. Even when she was busy raising her nine children you could find her visiting and caring for elderly neighbors, single mothers in her ward and throughout the valley, and any number of new friends she had met when visiting random rest homes. Alana loved to talk and if you were within arms reach there is a really good chance you have had a thirty minute conversation with her and you always left that conversation edified and feeling loved.

Alana is survived by her husband of 53 years Dwight Clarence Hill, Orem, UT; four of her children: Trent Winn Hill, Torrance, CA; Kimberly Marjorie Hill (deceased); Justin Arthur Hill, Lehi, UT; Dana Gregory Hill, Provo, UT; Bridger Quinton Hill, Lehi, UT; four adopted grandchildren: Allisia Britany Hill, Orem, UT; Katrina Nichole Hill, Orem, UT; Kaitlyn Danielle Hill, currently serving in the San Jose, CA mission; Kolton Landon Hill, Orem, UT; her seven grandchildren: Owen Winn Hill and Emma Lillian Hill, Torrance, CA; Jayden Thomas Evans, Hazel Jane Hill, Oliver Quinton Hill, Eliza Christine Hill, and Vivian Zina Hill, Lehi, UT; four great grandchildren: Maddison Brittni Nicholas and James Mark Nicholas, Provo, UT; Jiovanni Ramirez Hill and River Avani Hill, Orem, UT; her four siblings: Raymond Hales Monson, Lynwood, WA; Brian Fred Monson Centennial, CO; Gwen Marie Anderson, Houston, TX; Daniel Quentin Monson, Salt Lake City, UT; She was proceeded in death by her parents Fred Leon and Marjorie Hales Monson and her daughter Kimberly Marjorie Hill.
