COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 02/01/2023
Daniel J. Tivnan III, 71, of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully at home Monday, January 30, 2023. Danny was a graduate of DeSales High School, the University of Louisville, and a retired vocational rehab counselor for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He was an avid supporter of U of L athletics, a lifelong music lover, and founding member of Pony Ryde band. Danny was preceded in death by his father, Daniel J. Tivnan Jr.; and his mother, Marie (Nash) Tivnan. He is survived by his brothers, Patrick & Kevin Tivnan; sister, Kathleen Thomas; niece, Jillian McClure (Dennis); nephew, Christopher Tivnan (Sydney); great-nieces, Adelaide & Ellie Tivnan; and longtime companion, Michele Sacksteder. Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2023 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. from 2-6 PM with memorial service at 6 PM. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to DeSales High School or the American Heart Association.
