She was the daughter of the late Sam and Bessie Crowder.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Monty and Frances Allgood of South Hill, Walter and Louise Allgood of Baskerville; four daughters, Marian Brame and her husband, Alex, of Boydton, Bessie Wilkerson of Chase City, Barbara Gill and her husband, Herman, of Chase City, and Lucille Blalock of Baskerville; five brothers, Irye Crowder of Dry Fork, VA, Robert Crowder of Leesboro, NC, James, George and Ed Emerson of Hopewell, VA; and one sister, Myrtle Casey of Hopewell, VA; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling N. Allgood; two sisters, Mary Wray and Nellie Berry; two sons-in-law, Allen Wilkerson and George Blalock; one grandson, Jimmy Brame; and a granddaughter-in-law, Alice Wilkerson.
Funeral services were conducted at 11am Thursday, February 28, 2008, at Farrar Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Interment followed at Crestview Memorial Park, Mecklenburg Co, VA. The family received friends Wednesday, February 27, 2008, from 7pm to 8:30pm at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Lucille Blalock, 835 Wooden Bridge Rd., Baskerville.
