OSINSKI John David Jr. John David Osinski, Jr., surrounded by his loving family and friends, went to be with his Lord on February 25, 2008. He was born in Toledo, Ohio May 13, 1924, to John Sr. and Lucine Osinski (both deceased). He was a proud graduate of both Nativity Grade School and Macomber High School (1942). He proudly served his country in WW II, MARS Task Force: CHINA - BURMA - INDIA. After being honorably discharged, he enjoyed keeping up with his comrades in arms at yearly reunions throughout the USA. On August 30, 1947, he married Dolores E. Lewandowski. They spent 60 plus loving years together before she preceded him in death on December 4, 2007. He is survived by children, David (Augusta), Diane Domanski, Cynthia Raczko, Carol (Roy) Jacks, Janine (Mike) Williams, Mary (Chris) Demecs, Steven (Mary), John "Jeffrey" (Jean Molitor), Regina, Thomas (Nancy), Elizabeth "Betsy" (Mark) Morgan, Julieanne Ksiazek. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Harriet Jacobs and Rosemary Albitz. Preceding him in death were sons Joseph and Christopher "Chip"; sons-in-law, Michael Domanski and John Ksiazek; sisters, Lillian, Helen, and Sr. Lucilla. John was a well known letter carrier and union steward in Toledo. He retired from the USPS after 30 years. He then worked 10 years at Crestview Club-Lake Park-Flower Hospital in the maintenance department. John raised and raced pigeons for 75 years, winning numerous awards and meeting many lifelong friends. He also shared his love of fishing and volunteerism with family and friends. John was always there to lend a helping hand. He knew no strangers, just friends he had not yet met. He was a longtime member and usher at St. Clement's Church and after moving to Liberty Center at St. Patrick's Church, Providence. He also belonged to NARLC, Catholic War Veterans and was a Metroparks volunteer. A Celebration of Life for both John and Dolores will be held May 24, 2008. As John always said, "God Bless You... What a beautiful day." Memorials in John's honor may be made to The Anne Grady Center, 1525 Eber Rd., Holland, Ohio 43528 or Hospice of Maumee Ohio, 383 W. Dussel Dr., Maumee, Ohio 43537.
