Bartholomew "Beth" Faircloth was born south of Grinnell, Iowa and died at Skiff Hospital in Newton, Iowa, where he had been a patient since suffering a stroke at his home.

He was the son of Martin Van Buren and Druzilla Jenkins Faircloth.

He married Florence Lulie Benson, daughter of Charles Horace and Alwilda Caroline Dunton Benson, on February 18, 1893 at the home of the bride.

To this union was born one son, Earl Faircloth, who died in the flu epidemic in 1918.

Bartholomew "Beth" Faircloth was employed at the Midwest Metal Stamping factory in Kellogg, Iowa until April 1940.

In the 1870 US Federal Census it list him as being 1 year old. David Faircloth advises date of birth as 10 April 1868.
