Anchorage resident Steven Alan Sickler, 32, died Sept. 25 in Fairbanks. A funeral was held at Kehl's Forest Lawn Mortuary and Crematory with a visitation. Interment was in Angelus Memorial Park.

Mr. Sickler was born Oct. 29, 1960, in Burns, Ore. He moved to Anchorage with his family in 1975. In 1978, he graduated from East High School, where he played football and was on the wrestling team. He played on the Alaskan Volleyball Team in the Arctic Winter Games in 1976 and 1978. For the past nine years, Mr. Sickler worked for Summit Paving. He was foreman on a roadway construction project in Fairbanks at the time of his death. Mr. Sickler enjoyed golf, volleyball and competitive games. According to his family, he was a loving father, a generous family member who liked organizing holiday activities and who liked working with the children.

He is survived by his son, Bobby of Wasilla; parents, Robert and Nan of Chugiak; father, Vince Seeley of Boring, Ore.; brothers, Michael of Anchorage, and Gilbert of Chugiak; sister, Cathy of Anchorage; fiancee, Felica Stewart of Chugiak. They were to be married in Anchorage on Nov. 27. He is also survived by nephews, Michael, David, Tommy and Jeremy; and nieces, Gail and Destinee.
