Sandy took great pride in her family and the life she had made for herself. Working for Methode for 30 years, her dedication to her work provided the necessary means for her ranch. Raising cattle and horses mostly, she also enjoyed busying herself with other tasks around the farm. Her strongest passion was horseback riding with family and friends. From the age of 17 she went to the Fort Madison Tri-State Rodeo and loved it. Many games, campfire songs, and stories were something she loved to participate in.
Sandy left not only love and happy memories with every person she met, but joy and pride that will carry on with her family and friends.
Sandy left this world November 10, 2021, age 67, and was surrounded by the people who loved her the most. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Laura (Rossi) Akers, uncles Dubb and Tom Rossi, and four siblings, Joseph, Richie, Lori, and Hope Akers.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Deshong and Jesse Hasten. Her grandchildren, Lexy Deshong, Daniel Deshong, Isabella Hasten, and Sidnee Hasten.
The Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka is assisting the family with arrangements.
