Longtime Anchorage resident Fred L. Robbins, 67, died Nov. 25 at Providence Hospital. A visitation was held at Evergreen Memorial Chapel. The funeral service was the same day with the Rev. Ralph Weeks of Trinity United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in the spring at Angelus Memorial Park.
Mr. Robbins was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Mitchell, S.D. He came to Alaska the summer of 1950 and worked as a heavy equipment operator out of Union 302. He worked for a variety of companies over the years, including Cheney Construction, Rogers and Babler, MB Construction, Aleutian Construction and Anchorage Sand and Gravel. He also owned and operated Robbins Arctic Sales and Service and was a member of the Anchorage Elks Lodge #1351, B.P.O.E.
Mr. Robbins is survived by his wife, Geraldine of Anchorage; a daughter, Deborah; a son-in-law, John McMullin of Wasilla; a grandson, Justin McMullin of Wasilla; and his mother, Anna Robbins of Mitchell, South Dakota.
