Mrs. Fullerton was born on April 30, 1948, in Punxsutawney, to the late Marlin D. and Rachel Shields Yount.
She was a 1966 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School and attended DuBois Business College.
She married the love of her life, R. Eric Fullerton on Jan. 12, 1968, and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage.
She worked as a jeweler. She enjoyed working on genealogy, and was a member of the DAR, Dames of the Colonies, and traced family members to the signing of the Magna Carta. Marla and Eric enjoyed spending time together and raising long-horn cattle on their ranch in Denton, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, R. Eric Fullerton, and two sons, Michael (April) Fullerton of Fort Worth, Texas, and Matthew Fullerton of Denton, Texas. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Payton and Cassidy Fullerton, and step-grandchildren Lake, Kanon and Averie Bolton. Also surviving are two sisters, Bridget (John) States of Punxsutawney and Polli (Gary) Hollenbaugh of Punxsutawney along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant daughter, Erica Lynn Fullerton.
In lieu of a funeral, Marla wished for a private celebration of life with immediate family, which will be held at a later date.
