He was born May 9, 1924, the son of Davis and Annie (Rilea) Brown in Havana. He married Eileen Cordes, July 18, 1948 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havana.
He retired from Illinois Power in 1986 after 37 ½ years.
He served in the Army for three years in Europe during World War II.
Mr. Brown was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where he was a past elder. He was a life member of Optimists International and a member of VFW Post #6408.
He is survived by his wife; four children, John (Rusti) Brown of Bradenton, FL, Jeanne (John) Lemkemann of East Peoria, Susan (Paul) Showalter of Havana and Dr. James (Michelle) Brown of Havana; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sarah Catherine (Ned) Breckenridge of Donnelson, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Burial will be in Bath Cemetery.
