Roger Hildreth, 48, of Des Moines, died of heart failure on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona. The family will greet friends from 4-8 P.M. Monday at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home. Roger was born on November 29, 1959 to Richard and Bea (Smart) Hildreth. He had served in the Navy for 4 years and was a 17 year veteran of the Des Moines Police Department. He was a lifelong member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson. Family was very important to Roger and he loved spending time with his daughters. He is survived by his daughters Rachel and Hope, his brother Richard (Robin) Hildreth and his sisters Susan (Dan) Dalasta and JoAnne (Jerry) Bidler. He was preceded in death by his wife Anne, his daughter Katie and his parents.
