BIO OF JOHN HENRY ABERCROMBIE BASED ON HISTORY.

John Henry Abercrombie was born November 20, 1871 in Davidson County, Tennessee to Anderson Thomas Abercrombie and Rebecca Jane Adams Abercrombie.

John Henry first appears on the 1880 census as an 8 year old living with his mother and father in Dickson. Also in the home were his three sisters; Nancy A, Mary E, and SC.

In the 1900 census, John Henry, 29 years of age, had married Myrtle and they made their home in Dickson. Also in the home were three children; a daughter named Clara (6), and sons Lee Roy (4) and Francis A. (2). Henry’s occupation was listed as a farmer.

In 1910, the family continued to resided in Dickson, and listed in the home was John Henry, Myrtle, and children; Clara A (15), Fancis A (11), Annie B (9), Bonnie Velma (7), Homer (5), and Albert (2). Also residing in the home was his mother, Rebecca. Henry’s occupation was listed as a Retail Merchant for a General Store.

In the 1920 census, John Henry and Myrtle continued to reside in Dickson, with his mother and children; Annie B (19), Bonnie Velma (16), Homer (14), and Albert A (12). Henry’s occupation was listed as a Partner/Owner and Salesman for a Retail Merchant.

John Henry passed away on April 9, 1930 and was buried in Tennessee City Cemetery.
