Ralph Cletis Orahood, 79, passed away Tuesday February 26, 2008 at his home in Carthage Mo. Mr. Orahood was born July 18, 1928 in Boston, MO, the son of Hal Andrew Orahood and Thelma (Lawless) Orahood. His parents, a brother, Don E. Orahood and two infant sisters preceded him in death. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked in the construction field, as a taxi driver and as a vehicle escort for Taylor Homes in Anderson, Mo and as a security guard for O&F Machine in Joplin, Mo. He also worked for Independent Gravel and Hicklin Asphalt. He was an avid ham radio operator with the call sign of KB0ZHC. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Carthage, Mo. He married Mary Lou Morris on June 4, 1953 in Larmar, MO. She survives. A daughter, Debra Jean Jeffries and husband Tim,Carthage Mo, two sons, David A. Orahood and wife Janice,Joplin, MO, Matthew R. Orahood and wife Debra, Carthage, MO, one brother, Harry Orahood and wife Karen, Lamar, MO, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchildren also survive him. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 4 2008 from 9 to 9:45 am at the First Assembly of God Church, Carthage MO. A memorial service will follow at 10am. Internment will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Knell Mortuary.
