WALTHAM -- Harold was born the son of Max and Alice (Winn) Bruggeman in Udolpho Township in Mower County. He was united in marriage to Edna Olof on Jan. 3, 1943, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Waltham. Harold was a life-long resident of the Waltham area and was an active member of St. Michael's Church. Harold worked as a farm hand and farmer. He drove truck for Commander Elevator and the Cheese Factory in Waltham. He screened government corn at the Waltham Bin site. He did plumbing work for Waltham Plumbing and Heating, and worked at Waltham Equipment for 22 years as delivery person. Harold enjoyed stock car racing at Lansing, mowing lawn and scooping snow with his Farmall H; telling stories; and feeding squirrels and crows.
Harold is survived by his daughter, Bonnie (David) Pfeffer, Battle Lake, Minn.; son, Todd (Lola) Bruggeman, Waltham, Minn.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; two half-brothers, Earl (Florence) Hagstrom, Brownsdale, Minn.; and Edgar (Martha) Hagstrom, Memphis, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edna, and one son, Craig.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in rural Waltham with Reverend John Heruth officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery in rural Waltham. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church.
