Sara Elizabeth (McGee) Fairchild was born on August 29, 1928, in Chunky, Mississippi to Ezra and Ella McGee, the fourth of seven children. She married Wilton E. "Buck" Fairchild on August 31, 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Sara loved to travel and had been in all fifty states and many foreign countries. Her saying was, "I want to see what is on the other side of the mountain." She was a Red Cross volunteer during Buck's 25 years in the Army. After he retired from the Army, she worked for over 20 years at Bernhardt-Daniels Medical Clinic in Midwest City. She volunteered at Midwest Regional Hospital and Meadowood Baptist Church Master's Market food pantry. She was a member of the ORCTC Travel Club and Premier Book Club.
