Army Sgt. George Dayton Adams was killed in action in South Vietnam on Tuesday, April 26, 1966. George was a life-long resident of Albuquerque. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Sgt. Adams' name appears on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial ("The Wall") in Constitution Gardens near the Lincoln Memorial, Washington, DC, at Panel 06E - Line 135. Sgt. Adams is survived by his parents Harry Fidella Adams and Elsie Anina Hein Adams of Albuquerque; his widow Mrs. Janet Adams of Ralls, TX; two sons Benjamin and George Adams, Jr. in OH; a daughter Debbie Adams of Albuquerque; a sister Mrs. Elsie Marie Chastain of Lubbock, TX; a half-brother, Harry Ray Adams of Albuquerque; and his step-mother Mrs. Ray Marie Nunnelley Adams of Albuquerque. Funeral services were by French Mortuary, Albuquerque, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque.
