Helton Forest "Porky" Carter, 75, passed away at the Haven Hospice Care Center in Lake City, FL. after a long battle with cancer. He is the son of the late Odell and Mildred Hines Carter. He is preceded in death by one sister Carolyn and four brothers Gene, Melvin, Gerald and Earl Carter. He was a graduate of Columbia High School and was called to serve in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He owned and operated Carters Food Store for many years and was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church and he loved spending time with his family and fishing.
