Ada Mae Corr, 83, of Middletown, NJ, died on March 17, 2015 at her home. She was born in Newark and lived in Middletown for most of her life. Ada Mae received her teaching degree from Kean College and worked for 32 years as a teacher for St. Mary's Elementary School. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, her Reading Buddies, the beach, gardening, flowers, and being with her family. Ada Mae was very involved with school activities having taught CCD for St. Mary's while she taught at the school and at St. Catherine's in Middletown for an additional 5 years. She was also a member of the Monmouth Boat Club Ladies Auxiliary, and the school PTA.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Patrick E. Corr; daughter, Sharon and her husband Larry Huggins of Pottstown, PA; son, Patrick F. and his wife Mary Corr of Leonardo; daughter, Susan and her husband Jeff Decker of Freehold; son, Kevin and his wife Kristin Corr of Irving, TX; and her 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Ada Mae was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ada May Meister; her brothers, Edward, Chuck, and Richard; and her sister, Bobbi.
A special thank you to all friends, family, neighbors, and caregivers who supported Ada Mae and her family during the last few months of her illness. We cannot begin to express how much you have all meant to us.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 21, at 8:15 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Saturday at 9:30 am at St. Catherine's Church, 110 Bray Ave., Middletown. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
