Anne (Ireland?) Winter married in North Carolina in 1832, Rev. David Short Goodloe, Jr. (1810-59)(Yale 1831) born in Granville County, N.C. They resided briefly in Raleigh, N.C. and Tuscumbia, Ala. They then moved c1836 to Madison County, Miss. where they had a plantation "Oak Grove" near Madison City. He was elected to the Mississippi state legislature in 1845. Afterwards he was ordained as a local Methodist clergman and died in Fortress Monroe, Va. in 1859. Seven children were Mary Louise Hill (1832-96) who married William C. Love (1826-96); Elizabeth (d.yng); Capt. William Hooe Winter (1836-1913) who married Mildred Pratt Washington (1839-1929); Capt. David Short, III (1838-) who died from wounds at Gettysburg; James Lockhart (1840-1917) who married Georgie Brinkley (1850-1912); Richard Hooe Winter (1842-63) who died from wounds at Murfreesboro, Tn.; and Ann Elizabeth Goodloe (1844-) who married William E. Rowland.
