Gregory Wayne Field, or "Beatnik Bandit" to many, passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2017 at the age of 63, just north of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Born in Forest City, Iowa on Sept 2nd, 1954, Greg was the second child to Roger and Arlene Field. He grew up in Ankeny, IA and eventually attended Iowa State where he started his college career.

In 1977 he moved to California to study at the College for Recording Arts in San Francisco and spent many years working at a record shop, Musicland, where he began to hone in his love of all things music.

In 1984 he finished up his college career at San Francisco State University with a degree in accounting and business management, which lead to a decade long career at Pacific Gas and Electric.

After living in California 25 years he shifted his sights to the road. Opting for a more nomadic lifestyle as a career truck driver, a job he had immense pride in, Greg worked for the past 14 years for various trucking companies across the country, most recently driving for Halvor Lines out of Superior, WI. Through the trucking community he had a large network of friends that he kept in touch with though America's Trucking Network and the Louisville Truck Show.

He will be remembered most for his endless knowledge and love of music, his witty sense of humor and his smile.
He is survived by his daughter Becky, sister Cynthia, and his many friends near and far.

He will be especially missed by his daughter, in lieu of flowers she asks that donations be made in his name to the St. Christopher Trucker's Relief Fund at www.truckersfund.org/
