William Cletus Anderson, age 71, of Mt. Washington, formerly of Springfield, died at 11:49 p.m. Tuesday at Jewish Hospital Medical Center South in Shepherdsville. Born Jan. 18, 1939 in Allegheny he was preceded in death by his father, William Cletus Anderson, Nov. 4, 1998; his mother, Susie Brown Anderson, May 20, 2009; a brother, Robert Brown Anderson, Oct. 27, 1957; and two sisters, Susie Agnes Anderson in 1945 and Mary Ann Masters, May 7, 2001. He was a factory clerk at Lorillard Tobacco Company in Louisville for 30 years, a former member of the Kentucky National Guard and a member of Thompsonville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Durr Anderson of Mt. Washington; a son, William Cletus (Natalie) Anderson III of Shepherdsville; two daughters, Lori Lewis of Mt. Washington and Susie (Wayne) Sturgeon of Creek; a sister, Betsy (Scott) Sutton of Mt. Washington; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at Hale-Polin- Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Shelton officiating. Burial was in Peter Cemetery in Mackville. Pallbearers were Andy Sturgeon, Dalton Lewis, Nick Anderson, Tommy Sutton, Robert Sutton, George Masters, Casey Harvey and Matthew Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers were Maggie and Sallie Lewis, Lori Ann Pruitt, Lynsey Anderson and Kaycee Anderson. Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
