Mary was born August 18, 1953 in Des Moines to Dale and Roxie (Lincoln) Guyer. Mary lived life to the fullest through traveling to Virginia Beach, Sunday drives with her beloved husband, swimming and diving with her girls, cuddling and singing her grandbabies to sleep, crocheting with friends, baking and teaching her girls how to cook, spending time with kids, and watching reruns of the Andy Griffith Show. To say Mary was a warrior would be an understatement. Fighting stage IV breast cancer in 2005, colon cancer 2017, Essential Thrombosis, and diabetes. Mary was/is the face of courage. Mary volunteered countless hours to Pleasant Hill Elementary, Iowa Democrats, Teamsters Local 90, and although Mary was partially blind, she stayed committed to making blankets, scarves and toys for patients at Davita, Blank Children's Hospital, The Ronald McDonald House, and families of our soldiers. Mary was a great contributor to her community, winning the Empowerment For Women Award in 2018.
