From genealogical records for this Wilson family, Allen and Jessie Wilson are known to have had three children who died before 1910: Florence "Flossie," born 7 Sep 1896, died 1 Jul 1900, both in USA, NY, Niagara, Newfane; Claude; and Harold. Based on those family records, which do not include either birth or death dates for the infants who died young, it is believed that Claude and Harold were born in that order between Ruth (born 9 Jan 1902) and Dorothy (born 23 Aug 1907). The obituary for this infant son of Allen and Jessie indicates he died on 15 Feb 1904 at 10 months. The New York State Birth Index, 1852-1956, shows the birth of an unnamed male child in Newfane on 3 Apr 1903. This date is 10 months, 12 days, before 15 Feb 1904. Based on the elimination of other unnamed male babies born in Newfane during this time period, it is believed very likely that this birth record is for Allen and Jessie's infant son in the obituary, and that this infant son is probably Claude.
No male child who is not among Allen and Jessie's surviving children is shown in the 1905 New York State census.
