Ruby Esther Bullard, 88, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, in the Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Feb. 27, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton with Pastor Russell Nebhut officiating. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton.

Ruby was born in Aleman, Texas, to the late August and Agnes Rosentreter. She was baptized on October 19, 1919, and confirmed on April 9, 1933, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aleman, Hamilton County, Texas

On Dec. 13, 1942, she married Floyd Alton Bullard in Dallas. Ruby was a dedicated member of the St. John Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir.

She loved gardening, sewing, and fishing with her sister, Paula. Ruby was a homemaker and also worked for many years at a dairy, and as a nursing home assistant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Alton Bullard; sister, Paula Griffee; and her son-in-law, Ronald Eary.

Ruby is survived by daughters, Barbara Wood and her husband, Barry, of Pottsboro, Texas, Annette Eary and her friend, Wayne Martin, of Gatesville, and Ava Knapek, of Waco; grandchildren, Bryan Wood and his wife, Leslie, of Cooper, Texas, and Justin Eary and his wife, Tamela, of Turnersville, Texas; great-grandchildren: Arlie Wood, Heidi Wood, and Denver Wood; sisters, Estelle Manthei, of Waco, and Odella Markwardt, of Granbury, Texas, other relatives and many friends.
