Joseph J. Farrell
BEEKMANTOWN - Joseph J. Farrell, 57, of Beekmantown and Paul Smith's College, died early Sunday morning at the Saranac Lake General Hospital.
He was born in New York City, April 11,1911, the son of Joseph and Mary Moran Farrell. He was the postmaster for the small hamlet of Paul Smiths.
He was a member of the BPOE 1506 of the Elks at Saranac Lake, and a life member of the Baron De Kalb Council 1073 of the Knights of Columbus at Sheeps Head Bay, Brooklyn.
He is survived by his widow, the former Elizabeth Latremore of Paul Smiths, currently of Beekmantown; a stepson, Marvin H. Stratton of Hyde Park, four grandchildren; three sisters, Sister Mary Farrell of --- Constanta Religious order, Mrs Alice Farrell and Miss Mae Farrell, both of New York City.
A Bible vigil will be conducted tonight at 8 at the Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake, with the Rev. Paul Larocque officiating. Internment will be in the West Chazy Sacred Heart Cemetery where the Rev. Clarence Devan will recite the committal prayers.
