The Lord has a new angel today. Our mom went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior. She joins her husband of 64 years of marriage, Captain Earl Howard Allen.
Anita was a Secretary at her local church in Whippany, NJ and a homemaker. Her hobbies included playing cards, reading, doing the daily Jumble, crosswords, and watching TV. Upon her retirement and relocation to Florida, she took up the game of golf. She loved it, always saying, "I wish I could get that damn ball to do what I want it to do!"
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her sons CWO4 Glenn Howard Allen USN Retired and Captain Bruce Earl Allen, granddaughter Danielle, grandson Kenneth, and her sisters Mildred Owens and Barbara Potter.
Anita is survived by her daughter Marsha Allen (Don), son Captain Paul Lawrence Allen (Gayle), and her caretaker and youngest son, CDR Gene Russell Allen USN Ret (Kathleen), her daughters-in-law Yumi and Marie, grandchildren Lisa Anne, Amy, Nancy, Lorine, Keith, Lisa, Ashley, Matthew, Andrew, and Megan, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
As a family we would like to express our sincere thanks to Brentwood Assisted Living Facility. Mom had been a resident there for many years. She had a lot of friends and very special care givers. We would also like to thank the exceptional staff at Hospice of Citrus County.
Rest in peace Mom. Your family knows you are in God's care and together with Dad. Private services. In memory of Anita, please send donations to Hospice of Citrus County.
Condolences may be written at www.ferofuneralhome.com.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fero Funeral Home, Beverly Hills, Fl.
