He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Joan Marie Nunn; his loving daughter, Marie Wingo; his parents, Daron and Martha Nunn; and sister, June. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Schermerhorn (John) and Patricia Ann; son, James W. Nunn Jr.; son-in-law, Terry Wingo; grandchildren, Beth Schermerhorn, Brian Schermerhorn (Jenna) and Joey Wingo (Suzanne); and his great-grandchildren, Flynn, Otis, Joshua and Kensley.
Jim loved many wonderful and joyful times with his family and friends including meals and celebrations, traveling especially with his wife, annual beach vacations, golfing and cheering his Richmond Spiders.
He was an active and devout Catholic at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and spent over 20 years organizing the monthly church blood drives.
He will be remembered for his devotion to Joan, his family and being a loyal friend to many.
The family will receive friends and guests at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Thursday, February 23, 2023, for 10:00 a.m. visitation, 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass, reception, and 2:00 p.m. Burial at Westhampton Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the Virginia Cancer Society, Virginia Blood Drive or to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
