Funeral services for Mildred Frances Weldon Fontenot were at 2 p.m., Sunday, march 2, 2008 in the Kingsfarm United Pentecostal Church in Kinder. The Reverends A.A.Haymon, Jr., Steve Haymon, Jerry Hutchison and Carroll Bushnell officiated. Committal services followed in the Jessie Johnson Memorial Cemetery in Kinder under the direction of White Oaks, Oakdale.

Mrs. Fontenot 69, of Kinder entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 28, 2008, in the Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 24, 1938 to the union of Lloyd Weldon and Opal Harper Weldon in Sugartown. She was a member of the Kingsfarm United Pentecostal Church, a loving homemaker, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.

Her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd "Dick" Weldon precede her in death.

She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, her husband of 52 years, 5 months and 3 days, Alveno "Mano" Fontenot of Kinder; two sons, Dane Fontenot and wife, Carla, Forrest Fontenot and wife, Audrey all of Kinder; two daughters, Lynette Hutchison and husband, Jerry and Tina Haymon and husband, Kevin all of Kinder; three brothers, Lloyd Weldon of Fairview, Louis Weldon of Lake Charles, and Hubert Weldon of Sugartown; three sisters, Violet Andrews of Sugartown, Dorothy Sanchez of League City, Texas, Yvonne Lacy of Westlake; fifteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Forrest Fontenot, Dane Fontenot, Hubert Weldon, Louis Weldon, Robert Harper, and Burel Sonnier.
