Young Wife Dies

After an illness of one year of a complication of diseases, Mrs. Carl Van Patten, 19 years of age, died at Hurley hospital, Thursday night, Feb. 22, 1917. She had been confined to her bed two weeks. Cora Ellen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Taylor, was born in Gratiot county, July 15, 1898. She moved to Flint five years ago, she was married to Earl Van Patten, October 28, 1914. Besides her husband, she leaves her parents, William Taylor, of Breckenridge, and Mrs. F. Gothom, of Flint, one brother Charlie, of Pompae, three sisters, Mrs. Ada Fuller, of Ioma, Mrs. Goldie Parker, of Breckenridge and Mrs. Hattie Fuller, of Flint. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Howard J. Clifford. Interment was in Grace Lawn cemetery.
