On the WWI Draft Registration his occupation was listed as "Pipe Fitter" for the Pensacola Ship Building Company. In the 1935 FL state census he is 57 years old, retired and states he went to the 8th grade. He died 2 years later.

MY GREAT GRANDPARENT STEARNS WAS FROM VERMONT. THEY MOVED TO PENSACOLA, FLORIDA. HE HAD A SON THOMAS STEARNS IN WARRINGTON, FLORIDA, WHO WAS MY GREATGRANDDAD. THOMAS HAD SEVERAL CHILDREN, LOTTIE, SUSIE, WESLEY EMORY (MY GRANDFATHER), JAMES AND WARREN. WESLEY EMORY HAD 6 CHILDREN, THELMA, LOTTIE, ROLAND, WESLEY EMORY (BUT WAS CALLED SAMMY), MY DAD RAYMOND, AND A GIRL NAMED DOLLY RUTH WHO DIED. IT IS STRANGE THAT THEY NICKNAMED WESLEY EMORY SAMMY DON'T YOU THINK? I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR INFO ON THE VERMONT PART OF THE STEARNS' FOR A WHILE. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU AND MAYBE WILL HELP ME ALSO.
