Darlene graduated from San Jose St. University with a Degree in Social Services. Her greatest passion was in the service of others, particularly the youth of the Salinas Valley. She served as the Southern County Prevention Manager for Sun Street Centers, where she had worked since 2014. She also passionately served on City Councils for both Greenfield and King City. She had been a member of the King City Council since 2014 and was re-elected for a third term in 2022. While on the council she served on several committees that provided support and services to Youth, including: 4 Cities 4 Peace, the Comprehensive Plan to End Youth Violence Community Task Force, and several others.
She was loved and appreciated by many in King City and surrounding areas, but most by her family. Darlene is survived by her daughter, Shannon; grandchildren, Isaac, Eric, Isaiah, Elijah and Savannah; great-grandchildren Willow, Emma, Ethan II, and Elianna. Darlene is predeceased by her parents, her brother, and her beloved grandson Ethan. She was a woman of faith and had a strong love for God, so we take solace in knowing she is at peace.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023, at the Covenant Christian Fellowship Church, 323 Bassett St., King City.
