Derrell Duane Bailey, 89, born in Oneonta, AL., currently of Sharpsburg, GA., passed away on March 1, 2023. Derrell graduated from Blount County High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1988, after serving for 34 years. His passion in life was golf. Darrell loved most all sports but, his focus was on golf.
He is preceded in death by parents Arnim St. Elmo and Ila Evarea Headley Bailey; siblings Doreen, Ray, Ramona, Elmo Doyce, Buddy and Dane. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Cathy Lynn Conner Bailey (Sharpsburg, GA.); siblings Shirley Robinson, Carolyn Bailey, Charlotte McRae, and Jerry Bailey; a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Remlap Cemetery beginning at 11:00 AM. Lemley Funeral Home is honored to serve this family.
