George Washington Stacey, age 53, died in a St Augustine hospital Thursday night after a short illness. He was employed by the Barnes Lumber Co. of Hastings as a sawmill operator and was a member of the Peniel Baptist Church.
Mr Stacey had been a resident of Orange Mills for the past five months coming from Melrose and was a lifelong resident of Putnam County.
Survivors include his wife Mrs Doris Squires Stacey, orange Mills; mother, Mrs Hattie Stacey, Palatka; one daughter Mrs Emma Lou Mills;three sons, Goerge Virgil Stacey, Bostwick; Johnie Eugene Stacey, Orange Mills, James Dowman Stacey, Peniel;four Sisters,Stella Barber, Peniel; Mrs Louise Brown, Peniel; Mrs Viola Gay, Cocoa; Mrs Iva Simmons, Titusville; two brothers, Alton Stacey, Vero Beach; Perry Stacey, Titusvlle (Winter Beach)
Funeral Services will be held 3p.m. Saturday in the Peniel Baptist Church with Rev Earl Willis pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist Church assisted by Rev. M.L. Greer, officiating.
Internment in the Peniel Cemetery.
