John Raymond Collins went to be with Our Lord at the age of 83, on Friday, July 22, 2022. He gently passed away in Whittier, California.
John Raymond Collins, aka "Ray" was born in Niagara Falls, New York to parents John Andrew Collins and Ada Jane Smith Collins. Ray was the eldest of three children. At a young age, Ray migrated with his parents to Whittier, California where he and his siblings were raised in an Irish Catholic home.
After high school Ray married his then wife, Mary Susan Strahan Collins. They raised six beautiful children in Whittier, California. He ultimately became a real estate investor and spent most of his adult life in Scottsdale, Arizona and Zephyr Cove, Nevada where his children and grandchildren visited him often. Upon retirement he returned to his hometown of Whittier, California.
Ray is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his two siblings – Sister, Jackie Harven and Brother, Paul Collins; his first wife, Mary Susan Collins, his six children, eleven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; Son - Jim Collins with his wife Alisa and granddaughter Alexis; Son - Greg Collins with his wife Nancy, granddaughter Morgan with husband Bryce Devenport and great granddaughter Celine, granddaughter Rachel, grandson Steven, granddaughter Jennifer Strait with husband Kevin and great granddaughter Sienna, Grandson Justin with great granddaughter Natalie; Daughter - Kathy Collins with grandson Bode; Daughter - Chris Brinkworth with husband Kyle and granddaughters Chelsea, Regan and Jordan; Daughter - Julie Duncan with granddaughter Zoey; Son - Michael Collins with wife Cristina; along with many nieces and nephews.
A Catholic funeral mass will be held in remembrance at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Whittier, California following a graveside Catholic blessing ceremony at Rose Hills, California.
