Doris May Hoffman nee Davis of Fairfax, Virginia passed away on February 17, 2023 from old age. Her long life of 97 years was focused on her family. She was born in Ballston, Arlington, Virginia on April 24, 1925.

She is survived by her three children, Linda Hoffman Ivanov, Barbara Hoffman Quesenberry, and James Hoffman; two grandchildren, Robin Quesenberry Weller and Jenna Quesenberry Kirby; and 3 great grandchildren, Ellie Weller, Hadley Weller, and Patrick Kirby.

Her husband, Richard Hoffman, passed away in 2012. She will rest in peace next to him in the Rees family plot at Oakwood Cemetery in Falls Church, Virginia where she will join her mother, Dora May Rees Davis, grandmother, Dora Butterhof Rees, and other family members.

Married in 1946, Doris and Richard built a home in Fairfax, Virginia and subsequently lived in the same vicinity during their lifetime. Richard worked for the federal government in various mechanical engineer positions while Doris raised the family and worked part time at her children's nearby elementary school.

After retiring the Hoffmans enjoyed a long period of traveling in their recreational vehicle visiting many locations all over the East Coast of the United States and participating in several travel clubs.

Doris loved to craft. Over the years she created a large collection of supplies for making floral displays and items for local craft sales. Her eyes always sparkled at holidays enjoying the decorations, wrapping presents, and setting her table with favorite collectibles from her china cabinets.

She spent many enjoyable hours crocheting, the results of which will be treasured memory pieces by her family. Doris volunteered for many years at a local thrift shop that supported a nearby hospital, making many friends and earning her an award of recognition.

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the "light of her life" in her retirement. They spent many hours together playing, visiting parks, sharing meals, celebrating holidays, and making lasting memories.
