Bob became employed at the former J.P. Stevens and Company of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and remained for many years. He loved fishing and cutting grass on his riding lawn mower. He was a man of very few words and had very few close friends.

She encouraged him to go to church, and together they attended The Love of God Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. They both loved the Lord and each other. He once stated that she was the love of his life, and she stated that she had the best looking husband in North Carolina. They were blessed with one daughter, Sylvia Nicole Tabron, who passed away in 2007.

Those remaining to forever treasure the precious memories of his life are his granddaughter, Genesis Skye Blyden of New York; six sisters, Nellie Taylor, Doretha Ivory, Leola Ivory, Ceola Tabron, Leatha Terry and Mildred Tabron; one brother, Henry Lewis Tabron; three brothers-in-law, Billy Freeman, Terry Ivory, and Eddie Ivory; his sister-in-law, Emma Tabron; two other brothers-in-law; four other sisters-in-law; his best friend for many, many years, Seton Harris; his next door neighbors who always helped him out, Mack Harvey and Jerlene Harvey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
