"Anna Scott Abbey Death Reported Word has been received of the death of Anna Scott Abbey , on October 19, 1962 . She was born in Chicago on September 20, I860, and at an early age she moved to Denver with her family . After a few years they moved to a ranch near Castle Rock and she attended the Fonder School, and later taught there. She also taught at the Dewey School which was located about one quarter mile east of the Bob Metzler ranch.
She was married in September 1904 to Albert E. (A. B) Abbey of West Creek . About 1909 they and their little daughter, Alta, moved to Franktown. In 1918, they sold their ranch and moved near Golden where they lived until Mr. Abbey passed away in 1921 . Mrs. Abbey and the children then went to Fresno, California, where she had been a resident until her death. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Alto Gerlnger; two sons , Wilbur and Glenard; and many relatives in and near Castle Rock."
