He married Dolores Katherine Hoffman, daughter of William Hoffman and Emma Cherry, on 22 Jul 1944 in Morganfield, Kentucky. He was a soldier at Camp Breckinridge at the time of marriage.
He died in the VA Hospital, White River Junction, Vermont of cancer of the esophagus at the age of 63.
