Raymond B. Goff Jr., 75, of 8717 Old Orchard Road, S.E., died at 10 a.m. Tuesday at his home following an extended illness.

He was born June 27, 1919, in Warren, the son of Raymond B. Sr. and Ethel West Goff.

A 1937 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, he worked for the last 15 years in the parts department of Greenwood Automotive Inc. in Cortland. He previously worked for Pittler Auto Parts in Warren.

Mr. Goff was well-known as an accomplished trumpet player. He was a member of Local 118 Federation of Musicians Union and played with the following groups: Warren VFW Military Band; traveled extensively with the Teddy Phillips Band in the Chicago area; Kenley Players Orchestra, Don Dunham Orchestra and numerous area bands. He also conducted and arranged music for the Army Band at Camp Wolters, Texas, while serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed golfing, tennis, handball as well as gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Irene L. Toro, whom he married Dec. 12, 1950; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Pollock of Warren and Mrs. Doug (June) Ackerman of San Antonio; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Robert Goff, is deceased.
