Anchorage resident Andrew Elia Andrew, 50, died Dec. 30 at the Alaska Native Medical Center. There was a visitation followed by a funeral at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, Eighth Avenue and E Street. The Rev. E. Nicholas Molodyko-Harris of the St. Innocent Orthodox Church officiated. Burial was next spring in Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Andrew was born May 18, 1942, in Kwigillingok, and served in the National Guard. He had lived in Bethel and Perryville before settling in Anchorage. He was also a member of the Russian Orthodox church. An excellent carver, Mr. Andrew's carvings are all over the United States, Alaska and Europe, his family said.

Mr. Andrew is survived by his wife, Irene of Anchorage; his daughter, Jozie Andrew, and son, Oscar Andrew, both of Bethel; and five stepchildren, Vicki Brown of Tacoma, Wash., Mary Procter of Anchorage, Patsy McDonough of American Fork, Utah, John Hamilton of Eagle River, and Kevin Hamilton of Anchorage; his mother Anesia Andrew of Bethel; two sisters, Madrona Lee and Minnie Maines of Anchorage; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
